Thank you for the nomination to the Vestry. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the church in this way.

I grew up in Winston Salem and have been a member of St. Paul’s since moving here at the age of 2, except for the years spent at Chapel of the Cross in Chapel Hill during school and at the start of my marriage.  I met my husband, David, in Chapel Hill, and we were married at St. Paul’s in 2000.  We have been blessed with 3 lovely children (Winborne, Eleanor and Shaffer) who have grown up in the church.

At St. Paul’s, I currently serve on the Altar Guild. Over the years, I have served on the St. Paul’s Preschool Board, as Co-Chair of the Annual Stewardship Campaign, Co-Chair of the Renewal Capital Campaigns 1.0 and 2.0, Co-Chair of the St. Paul’s Bazaar, an ECW Christmas dinner cook, and a Sunday School teacher.
In the community, much of my volunteer time is related to my profession. I am a general dentist who has served the community for 20 years. Volunteering at free clinics at the fairgrounds, Community Care Center and a MOM clinic have been very rewarding. I have also served on some educational boards and been involved with social activities such as my garden club and children’s school projects.

My favorite parts of St. Paul’s are the people and the beautiful nave where we worship. It is truly a second home to me, and I will do my best to serve the church as a member of the Vestry.

I am a native of Winston-Salem and have been a proud member of St. Paul’s my entire life.  My significant other and partner is Caleb Fort and I am blessed to be the  parent of two daughters, Anne-Conley and Emily Edwards.  I am a Retail Area Manager for First Bank and currently manage 12 branches within the Piedmont Triad.  I grew up at St. Paul’s, was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s, attended St. Paul’s Preschool, and sang in the youth choir. I currently serve on the Flower Guild and adore arranging flowers often with my mom, Carolyn Moser.  In the past, I have served on the Finance committee, Lector committee, helped lead “He, She, We and God”, and volunteered with the after-school program.

I am currently deeply involved with the Stratford Rotary Club and serve as Chairman for our outreach activities at Kimberley Park Elementary School.  I have served on the Board at SECCA and volunteer at Second Harvest Food Bank.

St. Paul’s has many special events throughout the year and my favorite is the magical Feast of Lights service.  As a lifelong Episcopalian, I am grateful for how St. Paul’s TRULY welcomes all people.  We are “A House of Prayer for all People” and that is evident.  Our dedicated clergy is consistent and inspiring with each season while we follow the meaningful liturgies and outstanding music.  It would be an honor for me to more deeply serve St. Paul’s by serving on the Vestry.

Dear Saint Paul’s Parishioners, I am honored to be nominated for the vestry! Saint Paul’s holds a sacred place in my heart. My husband, Fuller Parham and I were married at Saint Paul’s in 2014 by Reverend Darby Everhard. Today, my husband and our 3 boys, Davis, Malone, and Bo all find great joy and community in attending the many offerings at Saint Paul’s.

My formal education is in Public Relations at North Carolina State University, as well as a Masters of Arts of Teaching at Salem College. As a kindergarten teacher with 14 years of experience, previously at Summit School and now with Salem Montessori School, I revel in working with young children and their families! I am grateful for the opportunity to share in faith and wonder with the families at Saint Paul’s.

One such opportunity is through serving on the Children’s Ministry Steering Committee. Additionally, I appreciate the chance to work with Saint Paul’s children by volunteering to tell the Godly Play stories with preschoolers & kindergarteners. Once a Saint Paul’s child myself, I have precious memories of attending the Saint Paul’s Bazaar, and many events with my grandmother, Jeanette B. Simmons (member 1958-2017). Currently, one of my favorite events is a weekly offering of storytelling and activity with Godly Play. Notably, The Lantern Initiative has been an incredible offering of spiritual depth & breadth. From my humble perspective, Saint Paul’s represents a cherished past, a thriving present, and I am prayerful to aid in the direction of a flourishing and prosperous future.

I am a native of Winston-Salem and grew up attending Centenary United Methodist Church, but moved to join Saint Paul’s in 1985. I am married to Ashley Edwards and have six children and 5 grandchildren.

I retired from Hanes Companies and Leggett & Platt in 2006. Having spent all of my 30 years giving to the company, I set my sights on my second stage of life to be more involved in the community. A lot of that time was spent revitalizing downtown Winston-Salem, and raising and distributing funds from the Millennium Fund to make that happen. I’ve had the good fortune to serve on multiple boards, including a stint with the NC Department of Transportation. For me, one of my more favored  efforts has been my two terms on the board of trustees for the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, one of which was as chair. I’ve served on several foundations which has given me the opportunity to see and help many aspects of our community.

During my time at St Paul’s , my favorite event is the 11 pm Christmas Eve service, but on a more fundamental level, truly has to be the weekly act of communion at the altar.

I find St. Paul’s to be a place of beauty that offers time for spiritual meditation, and contemplation of the words and music around you. It is a place of long-held traditions that continues to  grow and  to live by the words “peace on earth, goodwill to all people”. It is a warm and welcoming place, as it should be.
