Outreach in Lent 2021

**New Opportunities during Lent**

During these unprecedented times, Outreach at St. Paul’s remains committed to being be a community partner with our neighbors, particularly our neighbors with housing and food needs. We will continue to safely provide food and financial assistance in the upcoming weeks and here is how you can be a part of these ministries:

1. We will once again be providing lunch for students at the Winston-Salem Street School during Lent. The Winston Salem Street School is a non-profit high school for alternative students, and is our neighbor just down the street on 6th St. While we cannot stay and serve due to pandemic restrictions, we will be dropping of meals for their students. The Sign-Up links are below, and please let me know if you have any questions.

2. Exciting news about a new partnership with The Dwelling’s homeless shower ministry: “One of the core tenants of The Dwelling is recognizing the inherent dignity of all people, especially our neighbors who make their homes on the street. We believe in the holy connection between showers and our shared baptismal connection. Healing and dignity are found through this gift of water, and it is our call to steward it. Through connections with local agencies, nonprofits, and religious organizations, we provide regular access to showers and the necessary things to go with it: clean towels, underwear, socks, t-shirts, and toiletries.”

Beginning the fourth Friday in March, The Dwelling will bring their mobile shower unit to the parking lot of The Station @ St. Paul’s. While there will be Dwelling staff on site, they have asked St. Paul’s to provide 2-3 volunteers to check folks in, distribute hygiene products and offer snacks and hospitality.
