Heart in Pilgrimage with Jeremy Davies

March 28 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT

As the conclusion to our Adult Forum Lenten series Words that Tell the Truth, we’re excited to have the Rev. Canon Jeremy Davies, retired Canon Precentor of Salisbury Cathedral, join us for his lecture Heart in Pilgrimage on Palm Sunday, March 28 at 11 am on Zoom.  Heart in Pilgrimage will be a reflection on the power of poetry (along with the other arts) to stimulate our imagination and the ways in which poetry offers spiritual awareness, contributes to our sense of God, and often gives us the words and images for prayer. Our time together will include a reflection on the psalms, and the poetry of George Herbert, GM Hopkins, R S Thomas, Carol Ann Duffy, and Mary Oliver.
