Easter and Holy Week

Whether you grew up in the Episcopal Church, or have never set foot in any church, we are so grateful you are here! All are welcome to participate in Holy Week and Easter at St. Paul’s. There are lots of ways you can experience this important season. If you are new, let us know and we can answer any questions you have by filling out a short form here >. Before Holy Week:

Palm Cross Workshop: Wednesday, April 6 at 9:30 am in the Colhoun Room

Making crosses out of palm leaves for the Palm Sunday service is a cherished tradition at St. Paul’s and we need your help! Join us on the Wednesday before Palm Sunday to help make the crosses. No experience is required. You can even pick up the supplies and take them home to make. Drop in for a short time or stay the whole morning. A simple Lenten lunch will be provided. We can also deliver supplies to make crosses at home and we will pick them up on Friday. Palm Sunday denotes the start of Holy Week

Holy Week

Palm Sunday: Sunday, April 10 at 7:30, 9, 11:15 am, and 5 pm

Join us for the start of Holy Week for the Sunday of the Passion. The 11:15 am service will be live-streamed. The 5 pm service will be in the Chapel and all other services will be in the Nave.


Online Confessions: April 11 to 13, 12 – 1 pm via Zoom

In-Person Confessions: April 11 and 12 at 5 pm in the Nave

No reservations are required. Just show up in the Nave.


Good Friday is part of the Paschal Triduum; the three days leading up to the Ressurection recalling the passion, crucifixion, and death of Jesus.

The Triduum

Maundy Thursday Service: Thursday, April 14 at 5:30 pm in the Nave

The Thursday in Holy Week, Maundy Thursday kicks off the Triduum; the three holy days before Easter. This service includes the tradition of foot washing and is in person as well as live-streamed.


Good Friday Service: Friday, April 15 at 12 pm in the Nave

The Friday before Easter, the Good Friday service commemorates the passion and death of Jesus. This service is in person and will be live-streamed.


Stations of the Cross: Friday, April 15 at 5:30 pm

An outdoor service that involves walking to different stations that trace the passion of Christ. Meet at the corner of Pilot View St. and Carolina Ave NW. This service is in-person only. Note: if there is rain, this service will begin at the Goodheart Entrance.


Holy Saturday Service: Saturday, April 16 at 12 pm in the Chapel

A simple service for the time between the passion of Christ and the Resurrection. This service is in person and will be live-streamed.


The Great Vigil of Easter: Saturday, April 16 at 5:30 pm in the Nave

A service of light as we wait for the resurrection followed by the first Eucharist of Easter. This service is in-person only. Don’t forget to bring your bells!


Easter is one of the primary Feast Days in the Episcopal Church.

Easter Day

Sunday, April 17 at 7 am, 9 am, 11:15 am, and 5 pm in the Nave

He is risen! Join us for this High Holy Day where we celebrate the Resurrection of Christ. The 11:15 am service will be live-streamed.
